Sadly, there won't be any safe areas this season as Wolff has shut the whole county down. The worry now is people doing homemade bombs, illegal Mexican fireworks or shooting guns in the air. I'm digging out my helmet for New Years.

we need more safe zones to fire off fireworks. we need more fire fighter in the safe zones and we need more police in the safe zones.the city of san antonio need to allow in safe zones only. if the cith of san antonio does not allow people to fire off fireworks, then people will resort to fire off thier hand guns and home made fireworks, like a bucnch of dumb asses we have in this town.

Mr. Girdley,
Hey don't delete this. This is a positive comment. And an idea that might help. My name is Johnny and I'm a member of a fireworks club here in Texas called the Pyrotechnic Artists of Texas - solely committed to the artful design and entertainment of both display and consumer fireworks. I wanted to commend you on your efforts and also validate that "yes" there are hundreds of people here who love fireworks and we have clubs to prove it. I am also a member of another club called the Pyrodogs who is also Texas based and consists of 100% consumer fireworks enthusiasts. The reason why everyone is so quiet is because the law frowns upon us. With CPSC, BATF, and local jurisdiction on our backs... we have a lot to loose. So we keep quiet most of the time. I would love to help in any way I can. I would also like to propose that, in one of the safe zones, you have a consumer display. I think that if you announce a display this may spark more interest in going to a safe zone rather than trying to do anything illegal. Because people will get fireworks from somewhere. It's just an idea you might want to run with. And tell law officials that you'll be following all NFPA requirements. This will ensure safety. I'm sure there are tons of benefits in doing this that I'm not thinking of. I hope your selling season turns out for the best. Contact me if I could be of any help.
