Our Story

Creating Happy Memories for Generations

It started with a family and a load of fireworks. In the 1930s, the Cannon family began selling fireworks door to door across Texas, one celebration at a time. When Mary Cannon and Harvey Girdley married, they took the reins during World War II and grew the business with roadside stands and wholesale.

In 1958 the Girdley family moved to San Antonio, and the Alamo Fireworks name was born. Four years later, in 1962, the company officially incorporated in Texas and went on to help shape the safety standards that protect Texas families to this day.

Nearly a century later, we are proud to be Texas' oldest independent fireworks company, still family owned, and still driven by the same simple goal: sparking joy, one celebration at a time.
