Partner, Operator and Customer Testimonials
"We have worked the stand as a family for four years, since the kids were 12, 14, 18. It’s been a great learning experience, teaching them responsibility and customer service, learning how to hire and manage people, how to handle money.
Of course, we’ve earned really good money with Alamo Fireworks; the kids pay for their cell phones, insurance, school. In fact, my son earned more money running his Alamo Fireworks stand for the two weeks over the summer than he would have working a traditional job over the entire summer break!"
Mark Davis, Sr., Stand Operator, San Antonio, TX, Since 2005

"I have worked with Alamo Fireworks since I was a little girl, my daddy and Uncle Harvey helped set up things. I’ve been running my own stand since 1988. You could say that selling fireworks is in my blood."
Debbie Collins, Mega Store Operator, San Antonio, Since 1988
"Service has been really good. Working with Alamo Fireworks has been a great opportunity for a fund raiser. Our adults and kids have all enjoyed working. I love the way you have helped us manage inventories, getting us the inventory in early."

Dear Partner, Friend, or Customer:
Anyone who Googles Alamo Fireworks will see some unkind things written about our company (and me in particular!). Rather than get into specific individuals, I'll talk here in generalities about how people they may turn sour running a fireworks stand with us. Finally, I'll also cover how it's not in our best business interest to rip anyone off.
Like any other cash business, a stand operator has to watch their operation very closely. As an operator, you are responsible for making sure that the money you receive from customers matches the merchandise that you give out. It's pretty simple and most people are very successful at it.
As we work with hundreds of groups and individuals annually, a small few manage to go awry no matter how much training they receive. The folks posting on the 'net fit that bill. Some of the posts neglect to mention that one unhappy operator left his "buddy" to manage the stand who proceeded to rip him off. This same buddy also left the stand unattended overnight so neighborhood kids were stealing left and right. Other folks hire individuals (or relatives!) that steal from them. Of course, it's always easier to blame someone else for one's faults but that's human nature.
Finally, we don't rip people off as a business model for one simple reason: it's unprofitable. As anyone in the Texas retail fireworks business knows, it costs more to train a new operator than we would make stealing from them. We hope to develop long-term relationships with operators to get them to where they are experienced and thus selling more product. Stealing from people just means we're continually retraining operators who are not going to be as successful at selling product as veterans.
I'm not saying we don't make honest mistakes, but it's not our business to cheat people. Below are some testimonials from real (non-anonymous) operators who've worked with us for a long time. If you have any questions about operation, let us know.
Sincerely, Michael Girdley
